On September 27, 2025, the General Election Meeting of the Constitutional Law Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society (GDSLS) was successfully convened in Guangzhou. The event was hosted by the School of Law and the Center for Hong Kong and Macao Studies at South China University of Technology.

During this session, the 8th Council of the association was officially elected. Mr. Minghong Liu, Executive Director and Senior Partner of Neo-Ark Law Firm, was honorably appointed as a Council Member of the 8th Council of the Constitutional Law Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society.

This appointment reflects the professional recognition of Neo-Ark’s leadership within the provincial legal academic and research community. As a member of the council, Mr. Liu will contribute his legal expertise to the advancement of constitutional research and the promotion of the rule of law within the region.

Recently, our firm’s Xiaofeng Liang and Yuting Yu were invited to deliver a legal seminar to representatives from numerous companies. The seminar focused on two key areas: legal risks associated with expanding into overseas markets and the prevention and control of labour and employment risks, with the aim of enhancing corporate managers’ legal awareness and compliance capabilities.

Themed "Legal Guide for Enterprises Expanding Overseas" , Ms Yuting Yu drew upon her own experience in providing cross-border legal services to explain common risk areas — such as intellectual property protection, employment regulations, data compliance and dispute resolution — across various forms of overseas expansion. Ms Yu also analysed legal issues and response strategies for popular overseas markets in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia, using real-life case studies to illuminate the legal path for enterprises venturing abroad.

Xiaofeng Liang delivered a lecture entitled ‘Risk Prevention and Control in Corporate Employment Practices in Light of the Latest Judicial Interpretation on Labour Disputes (II)’. Focusing on the‘ Interpretation (II) of the Supreme People’s Court on Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Labour Dispute Cases’ , which came into force on 1 September 2025, Ms Liang provided an in-depth analysis of its key provisions, including their implications for social security contributions and the payment of double wages. Furthermore, she outlined the legal risks faced by enterprises during the‘ recruitment and hiring’ process and offered detailed risk prevention and control measures to assist companies in establishing harmonious and stable labour relations.

On September 12, 2025, the“Legal Frontiers of Corporate Outbound Expansion” Seminar, hosted by the Guangzhou Lawyers Association (GZLA), was successfully held. Ms. Yuting Yu from NEO-ARK Law Firm was invited as a keynote speaker to present on the topic: "Research and Legal Responses to Generative Artificial Intelligence Generated Content(AIGC)."Focusing on the field of generative AI, Attorney Yu systematically analyzed the legal risks associated with the widespread application of AI, as well as data compliance and intellectual property risks in cross-border business scenarios, and provided practical and forward-looking legal advice.

The seminar attracted nearly 50 participants from the business and legal sectors, with active discussions and strong engagement throughout the session.Attendees widely noted that Attorney Yu’s presentation was comprehensive and insightful, closely aligned with the practical needs of companies expanding overseas, and provided valuable guidance on the legal challenges associated with current AI applications, making it highly practical and useful.

On June 16, 2025, the Guangzhou International Commercial Legal Service Center and the Guangzhou International Commercial Mediation Center officially announced their respective lists of appointed institutional members.Following a rigorous process of application, review, selection, and final deliberation, multiple lawyers from NEO-ARK Law Firm were successfully selected. Ms. Xiaofeng Liang and Ms. Yuting Yu were appointed as members of the Guangzhou International Commercial Legal Service Center. Meanwhile, Ms. Xiaofeng Liang, Ms. Huiyi Tan, and Ms. Wanjun Li were selected for key functional divisions of the Guangzhou International Commercial Mediation Center, including the External Affairs Department, Case Filing Department, and Training Department.
